FEMME REVOLUTION FILM FEST. WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS / FIRST EDITION

With the objective of stimulating and promoting the production, completion
and exhibition of films written by and/or directed by and/or with leading
roles for women Femme Revolution Film Fest invites filmmakers and producers
to submit their projects to Work In Progress 2018, dedicated to films
produced or co-produced by Latin American countries, whose creation depends
on women in the aforementioned categories and that are pursuing
funding outlets for the completion of post-production.
A maximum of 7 feature films will be selected. The filmmaker or producer of
each selected film will be invited to attend Femme Revolution Film Fest
that will take place on the 20th- 25th of November 2018 in Mexico City,
where they will present their project to a Jury comprised of recognized experts
in the national and international film industries.
1. RULES
1 Only projects that have a producer and that meet the registration requirements
will be accepted
2 We will exclusively accept projects in the post-production stage that are
Latin American productions or co-productions and are written by and/or directed
by and/or with leading roles for women.
3 The participating projects must be feature-length fiction and/or documentary
films that have a first cut of at least a 60-minute running time, including
credits.
4 Reception of submissions will be open as of Monday, April 23, 2018 and will
close on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 17:00 (5:00 pm) Mexico City time. No
work submitted after the deadline will be considered.
5 The selected projects will be chosen by a selection committee comprised of
experts within the film industry and their decisions will be final.
6 The official results of selected projects will be made public on Monday, September
3, 2018 on the festival website: femmerevolutionfilmfest.com as
well as on festival social media accounts.
7 Femme Revolution Film Fest will extend an invitation to one member of the
creative team, be it producer or director of each selected work, with the expectation
that this person attends the festival and presents her/his project
to the Jury.
8 The Jury will be comprised of recognized experts in the film industry. Their
decision will be final.
9 An in-kind prize will be awarded for post-production of the work that the Jury
selects.
10 Femme Revolution / Women in Construction 2018 will be carried out in two
stages:
a)The representatives of the selected projects will have a day of one-on-one
meetings with each of the Jury members. These presentations must be in
either English or Spanish.
b)The representative of the selected projects will have a day for pitching with
questions and answers before the Jury and industry representatives at
large. These presentations must be in either English or Spanish.
2. REQUIREMENTS
1 Submit a project file as a single PDF with the following information:
· Title of the project in Spanish and English.
· Brief synopsis in Spanish and English (No more than 6 lines with Arial 12
point Font, single-spaced).
· Bio-filmography of the director in Spanish and English.
· Bio-filmography of the producer in Spanish and English.
· Technical Specs: Genre, country of origin, final format, language, color or
b&w, running time.
· Production team (Director, producer, script, executive producers, photography,
art, sound, editing, music).
· Cast.
· Outline of total post-production budget. Values must be presented in U.S.
dollars (USD).
· Total cost of post-production. Values must be presented in U.S. dollars
(USD).
· Total amount of secured post-production funding. Values must be presented
in U.S. dollars (USD), additionally there should be a breakdown of
percentages.
· Total amount of post-production that still needs funding. Values must be
presented in U.S. dollars (USD), additionally there should be a breakdown
of percentages.
· Specific needs for finalizing post-production. In Spanish and English.
· Plan and strategy for distribution.
· Territories available for distribution.
· Contact information (Name of the production company, name of the contact
person, contact email, website address).
· Link and password on Vimeo of the latest cut of the film.

3 The official results of selected works will be published on Monday, September
3, 2018 on the festival website: femmerevolutionfilmfest.com as well as
on festival social media accounts.
4 Once the official results are published, Femme Revolution / Women in Construction
will notify the representatives of the selected projects and may ask
for additional materials not mentioned in the call for submissions.
5 The project that the Jury deems winner must include the logo Femme Revolution
Film Fest in the opening or closing credits of the film, as well as in all
promotional materials and press kits with the label “Femme Revolution /
Mujeres en Construcción 2018” between laurels.
6 All submissions assume the acceptance of the rules and requirements outlined
in this call for submissions.
3. DISPUTES
Femme Revolution Film Fest reserves the right to modify the call for submissions
as necessary. We recommend checking for updates and consulting
the current version on the official website.
